Mold can sometimes run rampant and take over an entire room or even an entire home. In situations like this, where you have a house or a room closed off without proper air flow for an extended amount of time, a little household cleaner will not do. There would need to be complete removal of wall, ceilings and other affected areas. 

Mold doesn't always mean a complete tear out job. Sometimes, like in this picture, it's contained to one small area. At times, when it is a small area, you can use a household cleaner that has a broad spectrum of bactericidal properties to clean the area yourself. 

Although this started off as a small water leak in the kitchen, technicians quickly realized that it affected the flooring throughout the entire house causing the flooring to be removed in all rooms. 

Most of the time when we think of where an air conditioning unit is located in a home we think first floor, main level and so on. In this particular house, it was located upstairs and caused damage to the upstairs rooms as well as the ceiling and the rooms below it.

The fire at this residence actually happened in a sun room downstairs but the smoke entered the HVAC system and went through the entire house. The homeowner has asthma and the lingering smell was affecting their health. SERVPRO brought in air scrubbers and placed them throughout the home to help neutralize the smell and improve the air quality in the home.

As you can see this fire did not happen in the home but in a structure beside the home. Even so, the house was still affected by soot and the rooms as well as the carpet and upholstery needed to be cleaned.

This happened at a restaurant in Philadelphia, MS. By giving SERVPRO a call the same day the problem was found, we were able to resolve the issue at hand quickly and efficiently before the problem got worse

Water penetrates into structural cavities creating trapped pockets of saturation.  The detection of water in these areas can often only be discovered with sophisticated moisture detection meters.  Undetected moisture will continue to cause damage.  This damage, at a minimum, will cause odors.  Greater damage will surface when materials delaminate, shrink, split and further deteriorate to where costly repairs are required.

While there are many methods for drying structural components and contents, the "in-place" drying system has been taught in the industry and used by drying contractors since the early '80s. In those days, this method of drying components, without significant removal of furnishings or fixtures, was somewhat restricted, due to limitations imposed by extraction, evaporation and dehumidification equipment. In recent years, however drying technology (extraction, evaporation, dehumidification), along with better understanding of psychrometry, has advanced in major ways so that in-place drying has, in some cases, become far more safe and practical.

Frozen pipes caused massive damage to this church.  Ceilings, walls and flooring had to be removed in order to dry the studs and sub-floor.  The administration of the church were very pleased with the work of SERVPRO.

Lightening struck this funeral home and caused smoke damage in the entire facility. Electrical issues and structural integrity of the building made a complete move out necessary.  Assessment of the contents was also required from SERVPRO of Columbus/Starkville.

This picture shows an unoccupied home that suffered severe mold infestations throughout the kitchen and adjoining rooms.  We had donned our HAZMAT clothing and gear before we started the demolition of these rooms.
